The chef heads to Italian family restaurant Sabatiello's in Stamford, Connecticut, where the owner's fiery temper upsets the staff and has left him more than $1million in debt. Gordon's help is urgently needed to get customers back through the door, but the restaurateur does not take kindly to criticism and closes the restaurant down when his employees turn on him

The fiery chef comes to the aid of Anthony Trobiano, whose restaurant in Great Neck, New York, is failing even though his partner's parents have given him their life savings and he has taken out half a million dollars in loans. Gordon has some harsh criticism about the unhygienic kitchen and the quality of the food being served, but the owner has trouble accepting his advice
