It is early September and Peter MacQueen and lovable sidekick Seòras are off to the hut. Taking advantage of a quiet afternoon with no visitors, Peter plants a yew tree that he brought up from Glasgow and harvests heather to make into a sweet syrup. In the evening, dad Graham arrives to take Peter out to check on the creels. The next day, it’s a morning of preparations for guests arriving – the family, Coinneach, and Peter’s best pal Chaya come for an alfresco meal and a dip in the sea

Mary Ann Kennedy and Lucy Cooke look at how humans interact with nature, visiting distillers who look to local botanicals to connect their spirits and the local environment. Fergus Stokes, Ardgour's local microbrewer, shares his trials with a return to traditional Scottish heather ale production. Mary Ann celebrates the rose and cherry - and how taste and aroma count as much as appearance in their petals and fruit. Lucy finds a plant that has 'leapt' from a cultivated garden and happily grows wild, and finds the best way of using the intensely aromatic 'Ribena' flowers of the Flowering Currant

As part of the restoration, researchers turn their attention to recovering the cathedral's acoustics, as well as the light and colours that created its beauty. A dense layer of soot is removed from the stained glass. Meanwhile, the stone - now exposed - reveals its true colors - proving that the cathedral was fully painted. The hope is that the world's most famous organ will once again resound within Notre-Dame’s walls
