    Choral competitions
    Cathy MacDonald presents live coverage of the most prestigious choral competitions from the last day of the Royal National Mòd in Glasgow. Area choirs will gather in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to compete for the Lovat and Tullibardine Shield which was won by Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association in Lochaber in 2025. Running alongside is the competition for the Margrat Duncan Memorial Trophy, won last year by Lochaber Gaelic Choir. Cathy will be joined in the studio by two expert panelists who will offer analysis of both competitions. The programme will also feature winners of the morning’s choral competitions which included the Greenock Gaelic Choir Cup for puirt-à-beul and the Esme Smythe Trophy for ladies voices

    Highlights from the choral competitions
    Cathy Macdonald brings this year’s coverage of the Royal National Mòd in Glasgow to a close with highlights from the choral competitions held over the last two days. Amongst the performances featured will be songs from the choirs who successfully competed for the two main prizes for the area choirs, the Lovat and Tullibardine Shield and the Margrat Duncan Memorial Trophy. Also featured will be a selection winners from the rural choirs competitions, including those who clinched the coveted Lorn Shield and the Sheriff MacMaster Campbell Memorial Quaich. In addition to the choirs there will also be another opportunity to hear the talented solo singers who took home the An Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medal and the Gold Medal for traditional singing
