After being stationed in Kabul, she became pregnant by a local man called Amir who was later killed in action - and Abby discovers he was the sole male heir of a wealthy family that owns a large tract of land in a politically sensitive part of Afghanistan

The team investigates the death of a Navy commander last seen in the company of a mysterious blonde woman, who turns out to be missing NCIS agent and Tony's ex-lover EJ Barrett. An estate agent and two clients discover the body of Lt Com Maya Burris, a naval attache who had been working in Egypt, and her detective husband Nick arrives on the scene to demand answers. Using documents discovered on the victim's boat, Abby links her to Barry Norton, who is suspected of having sold government secrets to a Middle Eastern terrorist group known as the SRC

The Machine selects the social security number of Dr Richard Nelson, a well-respected heart surgeon and medical researcher from a local university. Finch and Reese track him down at a lavish awards banquet only to find he has already been poisoned with highly radioactive polonium and has just 24 hours to live. At Reese's urging, Nelson agrees to use the time left to locate his killer, with suspects including his estranged daughter Molly (Warehouse 13 star Allison Scagliotti)
