Meanhile, the ferry operator's CEO Robbie Drummond joins the engineering team of the MV Caledonian Isles to find out what challenges they face, and looks on as things start to go wrong in the engine room

Part one of two. In the early 1980s, Glasgow's gangsters found themselves fighting over an unlikely commodity - ice-cream vans and the lucrative routes to be found in each of the city's sprawling new schemes, whose residents had little access to shops, pubs or other facilities. The vans thrived and evolved to sell a range of goods, making so much money that they attracted the attention of the city's gangsters

The conclusion of the documentary picks up in the summer of 1984, with the criminal investigation into the fire that killed six members of the Doyle family. The police's efforts to find those responsible would lead to one of the biggest trials in Scottish history, with seven men in the dock. In the end, just two, Thomas Campbell and Joe Steele, would be convicted of murder, despite doubts over the strength of the evidence against them. There followed one of the most dramatic campaigns for justice as both men fought to keep their case in the public eye

The criminologist examines instances of men killing their families, with investigative journalist Fiona Walker joining him to look at two such cases that occurred on the same day in Scotland in 2008. Fiona travels to Buckhaven in Fife to uncover the events leading up to Rab Thomson killing his son and daughter, while David is in the Campsie Fells, where Ashok Kalyanjee took the lives of his two sons
