After a heavy night partying, Alison and Mike wake to find their house in disarray and with the clock ticking until a potentially crucial business partner comes to view the venue, the couple attempt a mass clean up. The ghosts are all acting very strangely, and Alison struggles to piece together the events of the night before to figure out what happened to them

Alison and Mike hit a new obstacle to nailing down the next event booking when the Captain's past threatens to be unearthed, and he wildly protests at the couple's endeavours. Meanwhile, Thomas and Julian battle it out over how the ghosts will spend their evening, Lady Button is confused by urges she hasn't felt before, and an old friend of Kitty's reappears

Mike makes a discovery among some old relics in the garden, which leads Thomas to go down memory lane with Alison and share a story from his past that he has never told before. Meanwhile, Lady Button, Pat and the Captain have gathered to hear Julian give one of his scheduled talks, but curiosity sends them upstairs and they can't resist getting involved with Thomas's tale as well

When Mike spends his first night alone in the house with the ghosts, he assures Alison she should go out and let her hair down. The ghosts happily pass the time with a music club, but they are interrupted by some uninvited guests and it becomes their mission to try to alert Mike and figure out how to protect the house from the intruders.

Heavy snow disrupts plans for the wedding as travel to Button House becomes near impossible, so Alison and Mike have to rally round to make sure Sam and Clare's big day goes ahead. The Captain is in his element with the emergency preparations to the house, but Pat is distracted by an unexpected reminder of his past, while Lady Button is aghast at what Alison is allowing to take place at her former home
