The dog has lost 40 per cent of the bone in the damaged leg, so Noel creates an innovative two-tier treatment, involving an external ankle frame for support. Sisters Rosemary and Diane bring in their five-year-old basset hound Albert when they find he is suddenly unable to move his back legs, and 10-month-old Labrador cross Gylly receives treatment for lameness and an unusual bone deformity

The midwives of Liverpool Women's Hospital invite viewers into the delivery suites one last time, introducing 27-year-old Gina and her partner James. The pair met at university, while Gina was on an exchange programme from Shanghai, and made their long-distance relationship work by chatting through cuddly toys via the internet. However, they must now demonstrate their maturity and become parents. Meanwhile, self-confessed 'baby machine' Margy arrives expecting her fifth child, and childhood sweethearts Craig and Sarah, who faced parenthood at an early age, look forward to taking their next baby back to their own home rather than to their parents'

Forty-six-year-old Mel only found out as a teenager that she was conceived using a sperm donor. Now she wants to see if she can find her biological father's identity by decoding her DNA, and discovers far more than she ever expected. Fi always knew she was adopted, but what she didn't know until later in life was that her father murdered her birth mother. Fi wants to know if it possible to inherit a 'murder gene'.
