Joe Lycett and guest companion Phil Wang embark on a two-day mini-break in the US capital, Washington, DC. Their home for the weekend is the Eaton Hotel, which features a 24-hour radio station, a plant rehab centre and a crystal library. At the National Mall, the pair take in some of the planet's most recognisable monuments and memorials, including the world's biggest obelisk, aka the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pool, the Second World War memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. Day two features a celebration of DC's diverse food scene

The competition begins at stately home Anstey Hall in Cambridge, with father and son team John and Johnny de Bruyne. The fun starts with a character-revealing afternoon of goose-herding, before the participants dress to impress at a formal dinner. John recounts stories of royal connections - which fails to impress hotel managers Mark and Layla. In the morning, as they tuck in to a self-service breakfast, guest Tim decides that DIY doesn't work at Anstey Hall, but when he notes this on his feedback form, John and Johnny accuse him of game-playing

The second visit of the competition is to clothes-free Clover Spa and Hotel in Birmingham, where owner Tim Higgs hopes to convert his rivals to the joys of naturism. Judging with an extra critical eye are John and Jonny De Bruyne, who received negative feedback from Tim, and a thorough room inspection reveals a dusty porn DVD. Tim tries to encourage his nervous guests to take part in a naked spa experience, but John opts to watch television instead. When feedback is invited, Tim is delighted to discover Mark and Layla would stay again but shocked by the 'porn film' discovery

The contestants travel to the Angel Hotel in Coleford, Gloucestershire for the third day of the competition, where a treasure hunt organised by hosts Mark and Layla brings out their guests' competitive sides. Meanwhile, there is confusion at breakfast and Layla's manners are criticised

The final stay is at Higher Gitcombe in Totnes, Devon, where owners Paul and Lynnie Jolly set out to spoil their guests. Everyone is overwhelmed by the added extras, but naturist Tim is put off by cushions and clutter. After a masterclass in Nordic walking, Lynnie serves up a veg smoothie, which unhealthy eaters Mark and Layla dubiously down in one. Over dinner, Tim challenges his host's organic 'niche'. And Layla, still smarting from his negative feedback, labels him 'weird, naked Tim'. At breakfast, guests are wary as Tim's order goes wrong and Jonny and Layla engage in an eating competition. When feedback is invited, the Jollys are affronted by accusations of special treatment and vow to put the record straight

On the final day of the competition, the owners of Anstey Hall, the Clover Spa and Hotel, the Angel Hotel and Higher Gitcombe meet for the last time to find out what they have been paid and settle some scores. Having aired their issues, the winners are announced

Sarah hosts the second visit of the week at Lahtle Wood Glamping in North Yorkshire, where she is joined in her duties by her sister-in-law, also called Sarah. The B&Bers find themselves cooing over the cabins when they pitch up, but Steve and Georgia aren't sure about the value. After a visit to an old air raid shelter, Steve drops some truth bombs on the other B&Bers about what he really thinks about the accommodation. Come feedback time, the Sarahs contend with some difficult comments about prices

Joe hosts the third visit of the week, at the stately, Grade II listed Cley Hall Hotel in Lincolnshire. The B&Bers find themselves steeped in history, before letting out some anger as they try out blacksmithing but a noisy night drives Paul to distraction, and both the Sarahs get a little too hot under the collar

The last visit of the week is to Bumble Barn Luxury B&B in Norfolk, where professional chef Paul and co-worker Debbie are looking to cook up a storm. Following a history lesson at an RAF museum, Paul indulges his guests by namedropping some of the illustrious people he's cooked for in the past. With expectations through the roof for breakfast, the pressure is on for him to deliver. However, some brutal feedback leaves Paul sharpening his extensive collection of knives ahead of Payment Day

Payment Day sees backstabbing, blazing barneys, explosive confrontations and plenty of vendettas to settle. Steve and Georgia aren't happy with their breakfast scores, the Sarahs are angry about their hot tub's frosty reception, Joe's tossing and turning about his sleep scores, and Paul is ready to take everyone to task about some low blows in his feedback. When the dust settles, the winner is finally revealed
