Dan Jones, Suzannah Lipscomb and Rob Bell take a fresh look at the Great Fire of London in 1666 by walking the actual route the fire took across the city, hour-by-hour and street-by-street, hoping to uncover what really happened during Britain's worst inferno. In this first edition, the three presenters investigate how the fire started, heading to Pudding Lane, site of the bakery where the blaze broke out. Dan and historian Dorian Gerhold then place a temporary 'blue plaque' on the very spot where the fire began

The team continues to walk the path of the infamous inferno, uncovering what really happened on the worst day of the four-day rampage. Dan Jones charts the destruction of the city's buildings, including London's spiritual home St Paul's Cathedral, which burned so fiercely its stones exploded. Suzannah Lipscomb reveals how Pudding Lane baker Thomas Farriner made sure no blame landed on him and Rob Bell finds out how the fire moved so fast

The team investigate the treatment for burns victims, and how authorities dealt with the 100,000 refugees made homeless. Finally, they walk through some of the streets where the fire's impact still endures, and look at how London was rebuilt from the ashes
