Internet entrepreneur Martin and his partner in grime Glenn hear about a huge fly-tipping operation blighting a remote Hampshire beauty spot, and raise a small army of volunteers who roll up their sleeves to sort it themselves. Meanwhile, the UK's network of motorways and A-roads rely upon a system of lay-bys to help keep drivers safe, but these safe pull-in zones also attract an unsightly collection of filthy behaviour, and it falls to Huntingdon lay-by warriors Clive and Steve to take on the speeding traffic, atrocious weather, drunk drivers - and those people who confuse lay-bys with lavatories

In Northumbria, a specialist sewage blockage team tackle a series of weather-induced problems, including a manhole spouting wet wipes, a drain blocked by plastic bottles and a poo 'sausage' threatening to send raw sewage back into people's homes. Meanwhile, in Worcestershire, the food inspectors are out in force, conducting a second round of surprise visits on two restaurants that did not quite make the mark last time. With more than 500 deaths a year from food poisoning and more than 7,000 food establishments failing basic hygiene standards annually, the two eateries have their work cut out to satisfy the inspectors

After a payday weekend of drunken carnage in Bristol, it falls to colleagues Alan and Paul to mop up the six tonnes of kebab boxes, broken bottles, vomit and other unspeakable substances left behind in its wake. Meanwhile, waste enforcement officers in Essex are out to catch the litter louts behind the UK's most commonly dropped item of rubbish - the cigarette butt

PC Karl Jackson is called to an accident in which two people have died, and his priority is to cordon off the area, collect early witness statements and begin the sad task of trying to identify the victims so their relatives can be informed. PC Paul Barker attends an incident in which a car has spun and crashed and finds an empty can of beer on the floor of the car involved

Dave McAllister is one of a team of officers on the M1 pursuing a stolen HGV, but only after its tyres are punctured with a stinger does the lorry come to a halt. A call comes into Derbyshire police HQ about a stolen motorhome. Its owner has a live tracker on the vehicle and is giving constant updates to the control room of its position

A member of the public reports a car veering erratically across the M1 and Karl Jackson and Matt Cooling are sent to investigate. They catch the vehicle up and box it in at traffic lights on a slip road, where the driver, smelling of alcohol, is dragged out and refuses a breathalyser test. Jason Potts is called to a rush-hour crash on the A50, while Alex Boniface takes the lead in the pursuit of a stolen Audi

PC Craig Dawes attends a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and car, where he and Sgt Matt Edwards secure the site for crash investigators, who try to piece together what happened. Sgt Scott Riley spots and follows a biker he thinks looks suspicious, with a computer check indicating the bike is not licensed or insured

AJ and Richie are in pursuit of a van speeding through narrow country lanes, while Jacko and the team box in a van carrying large quantities of cannabis. Sparks fly when dog handler Justin and police dog Elsa capture two burglars on a building site
