A respectable bank manager is haunted by the past and Greengrass fixes a golf tournament, much to the annoyance of Oscar Blaketon. Rural police drama, with Bill Maynard and Derek Fowlds

A comic convention is held in Carver Valley, but the event gets off to a sinister start when the latest creation of a mysterious writer is stolen from the organiser's house and burned. Barnaby takes up the case, which turns murderous when a former supermodel is killed during the event. The only clue is an unusual issue of the missing comics, which seems to reveal the dark secrets of six local people - and provides the police with six likely suspects. The detective is faced with a difficult case when he investigates the discovery of a body in a well, and he also has to contend with a new boss, Chief Superintendent Moody, who is dubious as to Lewis' motivation for coming out of retirement. As investigations into the human remains in the well proceed, an avant-garde artist's body is also discovered and at first glance it looks like a tragic drugs overdose, but Hathaway and Lewis quickly recognise the tell tale signs of murder

Syndicate 9 find themselves dealing with a high-profile historical case after Mandy Sweeting's body is recovered from a quarry, 23 years after she was first reported missing. However, Rachel's biggest challenge might not be dealing with the media attention or even re-interviewing bereft family members, but hiding her contempt for Rob Waddington's father Frankie (former Coronation Street star Ian Mercer), who led the original investigation. Meanwhile, Janet also has problems to deal with at home, as Elise moves in with her dad and his new girlfriend.
