Stolen Babies

Between 1949 and 1976, more than 250,000 unmarried mothers across the UK had their babies forcibly taken for adoption by the state, with the Government finally accepting responsibility for the historic actions and apologising to those affected in July. This documentary focuses on the stories of five women, revealing the state-built and -funded structures that enabled this practice to take place across the country, shining a light on one of the most significant human rights injustices of the second half of the 20th century
